Try massage therapy they target the muscles that are causing your back pain, and can teach you some stretches, or exercises. It has worked wonders for my back pain! I just hope you can find a good one in your area. If they are a good one they will also be able to do other things with your like cranial sacral therapy, and or shiatsu.

You need to strengthen your "Core"

Start doing ab exercises and make sure you are stretching your legs.

Look in to "Core" exercises, they require NO weight, it is complete body weight and stability exercises. You core is basically your abs and lower back.

You will notice a better posture and less back pain as well as preventing those spasm pains that shoot down your leg from your back.

PS: Chiropractors do not "Treat" or "Cure" any pain, it is a temporary fix. As soon as you walk out of the chiropractors office, your muscles are in the same condition and will not help prevent your body from being thrown off. If you get adjusted by a Chiropractor and slip while leaving his office, your body will be messed up again.

Strengthen your muscles and stability to prevent the pain

I see these infomercials all the time, but they're right. Have you tried getting sole inserts for your shoes? You'd be surprised how much they help. Go to a foot doctor if you really want to get serious about it, but just make sure your feet are supported because they effect the rest of your body.

as mentioned by somone above me. Exercise and strength training the core muscles and back are very crucial. I also reccomend the shiatsu massage chair by homedics

STRENGTHEN YOUR BACK MUSCLES. TRY PHYSICAL THERAPY THEY WILL SHOW YOU EXERCISES TO DO. THEN TRY THEM AT HOME ON YOU OWN. NO MORE PT OR CHIROPRACTORS. GOOD LUCK

I had the same problem until I found a great ebook that teaches you how to do a back treatment on yourself and be out of back pain. I usually don't buy this kind of thing, but he has a video that really impressed me. Boy was I right! No more back pain, no more chiropractor. I hope it helps you.

Amrita looks like Indian. Indeed, Eastern training is best: Chi-Gong, Tai Chi, etc.

Start by getting an MRI to find out exactly what the problem is. Then you can look for various treatments. I have had two bulging disks and on leaking disk. An epidural block helped for one of them. Another time I had intravenous steroids, these did wonders for me.

I used to get lower back pain all the time after I had babies. Yoga really helped me. When I start getting lower back pains, I do yoga again. I bought several dvds and just use whichever one I feel like it so I don't get bored. Best to do it in the morning before you begin your day. It helps you focus.

Unfortunately back pain is caused by many things, is complex, and most of the time people have a recurrence within a year. There was a very large study done in the UK which found that the most effective things were (in order) Chiropractic care with a coupled exercise program, Chiropractic care alone, physical therapy, and then MD supervised care (called "best practices in the study)

If you are having long term chronic pain, it can be very difficult to treat, and you should try many things, as no one thing is the right answer for everyone. You may need to address such things as your weight, whether you have foot/ankle/knee issues, your ergonomics, sleeping habits, posture, etc, to find what are the primary causes of your pain.

I would first try a chiropractor who does rehabilitation exercises focusing on the core and decreasing spinal flexion if your current chiro does not. If you are not getting any exercises, that is a good place to begin to aid long term outlook.
