What are the best meds for severe pinched nerve and back and neck pain? I had cervical surgery 3 mos ago?

I was prescribed Vicodin but it makes me itch and throw up. I take Flexeral (sp), Skelaxin but nothing works. The weather change is killing me. I am always in constant pain, fatique and depressed… no crying just no energy or motivation. I also have fibromalgia.

I have problems taking Vicodin, but I was prescribed Tramadol (Ultram is the brand name) 50mg for people who experience chronic pain. I just read there is a newer form of the pill that is only taken once daily, Ultram SR. I have had good results trying to work since taking it, as I also experience intense pain during the change of the weather and weakness. I have fibromyalgia, degenerative arthritis of the spine and gout that causes my joints to become disfigured. Maybe your doctor could try you on it or have samples for you to try first.

I sometimes have the same problem with my 2 prior surgeries. If it becomes totally unbearable I go to my doctor and ask for a decreasing dose-pack of prednisone. After that's gone I use Ibuprophen. Over the counter generic 200 mg tabs. 4 in the morning 4 at noon and 4 in the evening until the pain and inflamination is gone.
