Back pain on lower left side?

I’ve had this pain a few times before but it usually disappears on its own within a few hours or overnight. I’ve had it now for over 24 hours. It’s right where my left side love handle is, but it’s inside. I can’t tell if pushing on the area causes more pain. My stomach hurts occasionally, it’s probably just the pain making me nauseous. I don’t think I have any other symptoms of a kidney infection, but I’m not sure. I’m well aware that this could simply be a pulled muscle but the pain began out of nowhere, not as I was doing anything strenuous. I’m 16 and usually have minor backpain but this pain makes every slight movement very painful. How long should I wait before seeing a doctor?
I also thought of that cause and laying on my stomach is the only thing that helps temporarily. But I’ve taken Tylenol all day, my Dad gave me a muscle relaxant and vicodin, nothing is helping.

It could be anything, nerve problem, muscle problem, kidneys or a number of other things…It is impossible to answer your question without knowing what the actual problem is. Ask your Doctor for a referral for a CT or MRI scan.
The wrong type of treatment or exercises can do more damage than good and you need to have your back properly diagnosed prior to ANY treatment.
Again you do need to have a CT / MRI scan or such done before allowing ANYONE to touch your back.

Get a professional opinion from the radiologist doing the scan in his report to your doctor and then go from there.

I usually get pain like that if I sit too long in a bad posture. I’m 18, so It’s not like I’m much older than you. Maybe if you take some advil and lay on your stomach for a while, the pain will subside. It usually does for me.
