Can a virus cause throbbing chest pain?

I have been in bed since Tuesday. It started with a headache and then a soar throat, although my throat isn’t really soar it actually hurts and then chest pain, with achy joints like arthritis. My mom passed of Lupus and every time I get sick, I automatically assume that that is what is wrong. So yesterday I went to the doctor and at first he thought I had pneumonia, but then he checked my lungs and said they were clear and he told me that it was just a virus. At first it was just a lot of pressure but then my chest recently started throbbing (on my left side) as of yesterday and I’m a little scared because I have never felt like this. Im not coughing, or sneezing, but I did have a low grade fever. I check it every now and then and it ranges between 98.6 - 99.6. I was wondering if anyone may know more about this and if they have experienced chest pain with a virus. Thank you for your comments.

I have never experienced chest pain with a virus. I would recommend getting another opinion, preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor that you currently go to for care, to see what they think could be going on.
