I here smoking marijuana eases a lot of pain for critically ill patients, not trying to be funny, serious!

Ask your doctor to change your medications periodically so you don’t build an immunity to the drugs that are prescribed to you on a regular basis. That does help a little with pain management.

Don’t know if it will work for your type of pain, but you might try Percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (PENS). Many people swear by it as miraculously effective. Acupuncture and accupressure might also be worth looking into.

I have IC and Fibro. I use a TENS unit, which definitely helps. Also, I do yoga and weight train. I went to a physical therapist as well, for both, and that was definitely helpful. If you can, find an internal therapist (sounds weird, but it’s really not bad at all and it may help the IC). For both conditions, the main thing is to figure out what things trigger worse symptoms and then cut back or avoid those things (especially acidic foods for IC, though you can use calcium citrate supplements to offset the acidity). Also, join a support group (online works, too) for either or both conditions. It does help.
