How come my lower back hurts?

how come both sides of my lower back hurts. I use to exercise and do crunches on hard wood floor with a pillow on my back. I played volley and soccer 2 3 times a week, for at least 3 4 hours each time. Then couple of weeks ago my back started to hurt and it’s still hurting please tell me the solution to this back pain, sometimes it really hurts to just try and twist it or stand up from a sitting position. I’m only 18 i shouldn’t have back problems. I’ve gone to the doctor about this back pain and he said that i might have pulled a muscle on my back some how. But i dont think that’s right because it’s been hurting for 3 4 weeks already. Please help me out and thank you

I’m 22 and I’ve had back problems since I was 16. The only thing I can tell you to do is go see a doctor ! Lower back issues are no joke, and if you don’t take care of them, they can get really serious. I don’t want to scare you or anything, but it is something you need to get fixed. I waited 4 years, and turned out I have a herniated disc. But it could be something as simple as something just pressing on a nerve cause you made the wrong movement. Just get it checked, you’ll feel a lot better.

i get lower back pain ALL the time too. it’s the most painful thing huh? i’m also an athlete and i also inherited a bad back from my parents. but it’s just called straining your lower back from bending it too far forward and using those muscles to move your lower body, which you are not supposed to do.
to relieve this pain (it works everytime for me!) use a back roller. they’re usually in any fitness center. they’re foam rollers about 5 feet long. they look like cylinders.
put the roller right under your lower back area and lay out your legs straight. put your arms above your head and stretch out. your weight should be emitted to the lower back and it will stretch it out. or you can roll back and forth on your back hitting the lower back every now and then. i love this and i do it every day for my back!

I bet you do not drink very much water, do you! I mean pure water, with No additives. What you are describing can be a couple of things, it could be caused by kidney problems, or lumbar compression, or small bowel compaction. In any case you need to drink at least 1 (one) gallon of water a day(128 oz), and go an see a doctor. Are you on a high protean diet? I hope not. Oh, and stay away from things that dehydrate you, such as chocolate, alcohol, and caffeine (in any form).
