My lower back is killing me!

(I’m a 23 year old male - 6 foot 4 inches and very active).a few months ago i was paint-balling in a forest and as i was running down hill i slipped on a wet, exposed tree root. As i was falling backwards and while my spine was bent backwards i regained my footing with my left foot only to be instantly crippled by pain - about 1 inch to the left of my spine in my lower back. i could barely walk for days and it slowly got better but has never fully recovered. its been on and off for weeks now but recently I’m getting a terrible shooting paint at the point of injury especially after i stand up from a sitting position. the pain gets worse if i move my foot in a certain way or if i bend my neck forwards. does anyone know if this is a serious problem or something muscular/nervous that can be repaired with rest or stretching or anything or i should just get an x-ray?? any ideas on what might be causing it?? any help greatly appreciated!

Sounds like your hip is out, go have it adjusted the muscle spasms and pain could be the body holding it so it won’t go any further.
