Do you have Injection pain with betaseron (ms treatment) ?

Ive been taking betaseron for 6 years now, and it has been fairly successful for me. But the pain is unbearable. especially on the back of the arms and buttocks. The pain is so much that it causes me to cry. I was wondering if anyone with ms has the same experience? is there any alternative? :(

Have you always had this pain or is it something that has come slowly?

If it’s something that has come gradually, then you might be developing scar tissue under your skin from the regular injections. It can help to give the areas a break or it can be helped with laser treatment.

Numbing the injection site with an ice-cube right before you inject has also helped some. I haven’t hear of anyone using numbing cream, but I could imagine this could also be an option.
