My husband has migraines without pain and what is the cure for this?

He has numbness and tingling in his ear and face and his face gets terribly red.

I used to get these – I went through every test imaginable, and they said it was migraine… I would get tingling, then numbness in my fingers, and it would work it’s way up to my head until I couldn’t see or speak. It was very scary. The first time I thought I was having a stroke (and I was in my 20s).

I ended up keeping a journal for about three months. I kept track of all kinds of things that might trigger them. I did notice that I’d get a spot in my vision (like what you see when someone takes a flash picture in front of you) right before the migraine started.

I learned that something in new (cheap and industrial) carpeting, certain perfumes (and especially one certain men’s cologne) as well as concentrating on something visual up close (like doing a math problem, or reading small print) triggered migraines.

Now, as soon as I get that spot in my vision (which happens less and less now), I get away from whatever I’m doing.

I haven’t had one of those for over 15 years now.

Have your husband keep a journal and every time he has an episode, keep track of what he was doing and the very first thing he noticed when he is getting one, any smells, what he ate within the four hours before the migraine, etc. Eventually, he will find out the pattern and be able to determine the trigger.

I wish you both the best of luck. Doctors aren’t very helpful, especially when all the tests turn out normal. I even had one doctor tell me to stop drinking – and I’m a tea-totaller!

I never heard of migraines without pain, but in any case you should have him consult his physician.

Sounds more like extremely high blood pressure or he is a raging alcoholic?

If that is his one symptom I would consult your physician.

It can be and allergic reaction to something as well. There is a number of things that is causing this reaction.
