OK- TMJ is a condition that is misdiagnosed most of the time. Most of the time it is not a "Jaw" problem it is head and neck misalignment issue. If your head is slightly tipped, you can get "migraine" like headaches, chronic ear pain, jaw pain, grinding of the jaw and many other symptoms.

Btw, nothing they gave you was a solution to the problem, they are only meant to prevent the condition from getting worse. The bite guard protects your teeth from the grinding. The muscle relaxers help with some of the muscle tightness, but none of them actually fix the "cause" of the problem. Most of the time, if you can correct the head and neck alignment issue (which you definitely have based on your symptoms), the headaches should reduce and the ear pain may subside.

I would recommend going and seeing a chiropractor. ASk them if they do occiput( pronounced ox-i-put) adjustments. They should be able to correct the issue that you have.

I really wish you the best.
