i have severe back pain…..can you please help!?

last year around this time i developed a horrible lower back pain. i went to the doctor and they told me i had a pulled muscle in my back and to ice it and take pain meds. it helped for a while but i still had the pain. as of about a month ago i realized that the pain has moved up my back to my shoulder blade area. my mother didn’t believe me until about a week ago when the pain was so bad it caused my to cry. the pain is like a tense muscle pain but also like someone is pulling my muscles apart. it also causes my to feel like i need to stop breathing hold my breath for a second ( i know it sounds funny). and streching doesn’t help. i’m scared i might have some serious medical condition. i’m supposed to go to the doctor pretty soon but i would like to hopefully get some answers now. do you know what it could possibly be? or anything that could help? thank you for your time. btw i’m 14

If your doctor didn’t take enough time to look more in depth at the problem, I would suggest to go to another doctor for this. A Chiropractor will probably be your best bet, as they specialize in the back (bones, muscles, and everything).

I doubt that it’s a serious medical condition. It’s probably just a continuation of the pulled muscle that you had earlier or a new injury. The back muscles are quite large so it’s possible that while you originally felt it in your lower back the injury was more extensive.

You might also have a pinched nerve or other injury of that type. The doctor will be able to tell you when you go. You should be fine though if you follow the doctor’s instructions. Of course if it doesn’t get better you should let them know that too.

    Good luck!

May you be healed and blessed lord willing amin.
14 years old.. what have you done my lord go see doctor that is all I can say and don’t take painkillers it just bring in mental block and addresses more problems later.
Use everything that is clean to earth.. there is some method they are using with hot rocks and oil… I suggest after the medical exam and specialist.. then some natural therapy… but 14 years old that is not natural unless you have some hard labour around ya… well there is many that still work.
Peace and I will make prayer for you.

You may have a condition like scoliosis or lordosis that needs treatment. You may have poor posture. You may be tensing your back, somehow, when you study, without realizing it. You may be doing some physical activity, like gymnastics, incorrectly.

Be patient & let the doctor figure it out, and then do what the doctor says, OK?

    Good luck!

Back pain is no laughing matter . You need to go to your D.R. they will start out by doing some x-ray’s .If they don’t find anything on the x-ray’s then they will need to do a MRI .You are very young so what ever it is Iam sure it can be fixed . They may have you do some physical therapy . But for now till you go to the D.R. try a heating pad ,sometimes a hot bath works ,It will help relax your muscle . I have lived with back pain for the last 5 year’s or so But Iam a old woman Iam 39 hehe

Best of luck too you I hope it get’s better

I can only tell you what I know but your situation may require more than just a regular doctor. SEE A SPECIALIST. But my hubby had something like what you had but it moved all the way up to the base of his neck, wouldn’t go away and he couldn’t even get out of bed. He went to a specialist and it was a type of pulled muscle. It eventually went away after 4 weeks but kept returning. And all they did was put him on meds. He then went to a highly recommended chiropractor and after 4 visits, his back pain was gone and he even seemed taller.

Also, are you having weight or posture issues? I had bad back aches due to bad posture. Strengthening abdominal muscles seemed to help.

Take it easy and no matter how people think you’re faking, keep trying to get answers. (watch the show mystery diagnosis on discovery health: lot of people go thru a lot of bad situations just like you).

Go get an MRI of your back. It could be a slipped disk, pinched nerve or other serious condition.

In the mean time, this will help with all kinds of back pain. (Before you laugh, try it, it works.)

    (a) Get a bottle of castor oil
You can get castor oil at http://www.iherb.com. You can get 32oz bottle for the same price you get a 2 oz bottle at CVS, Walgreen’s etc. But to see if this works for you, you can try with a 2oz bottle first.

    (b) Get a linen cloth, enough to cover your sore spots.

    (c) Get a hot water bottle.
You can get a hot water bottle at CVS, Walgreens, etc.

Now, get someone to slather the castor oil on your back where it hurts. Put the linen cloth on it on the castor oil so it doesn’t just ooze down your back.

Put hot water (faucet hot, not boiling hot) into the hot water bottle.

Lie down. Put the hot water bottle on where it hurts. The pain should go away in a few minutes. Leave the hot water bottle on for about 10-15 minutes. You should be pain free for several hours.

You can repeat this as necessary, there are no side effects.

This is only to relieve your pain symptoms, so do go to a doctor and get an MRI of your back as soon as you can.
