Were you forced to buy your Oxycontin and Meds Online?

I have two broken verts, crushed discs, and permanent nerve damage from a horrific surfing accident. I was tow-surfing in Todos, went over on a 40 foot wave, and then was run over by the jet-ski that was supposed to be rescuing me from getting hurt in the first place.

Now, I live in chronic pain. It is never ending. I am 28, and do nothing but hurt. Doctors are too scared to write anything (Rx wise) that offers relief. I’ve even had them say point blank "you should be on Oxy, or something equally as strong, but I am scared to write it because of the government and how they have become."

So, I was forced online. Forced to research all the place, the good, bad and ugly. There are about 7 legitimate sources, all based out of Tijuana/San Ysidro, California. But, there’s only one that I use now because it’s almost half the price of the others. painsaverrx@hushmail.com it has a private webpage. Yup, done the f-free, f-turnaround.com, etc, etc…But those were like 530 bucks for 10 80’s.

I am just so frustrated. I still want to live a good life, and to me that is as pain free as possible–even if it has to include a lot of STRONG medications that are addicting. Addict me, make me an addict, I don’t care, because anything less than that is so painful that at times I question even wanting to live. I still want to skate, surf, date, love, travel, hike, etc…I still look good on the outside, but I am so hurt on the insidebecause of the pain and injury that I feel life is flying by me.

Instead, to get relief, I have to pay 1500 USD for 50 OC 80’s, and their freebies (bottle of roxicet, and a few roxicodone) from painsaverrx@hushmail.com

Why? I have great insurance. I shouldn’t pay a thing. I should use that 2 grand each month on fun, on women, on travels, on a cooler place to live, on a better car, etc….But, I can’t, I spend all my extra money on pain meds just so I can get out of bed every morning to face the world.
I get that a lot…"you have options, you chose pills, you went the easy way, blah-blah." Honey, I have been in Physical Therapy 4 days a week since the accident. I am in the gym every single day for a minimum of two hours. I am at a place called "The Institute for Progressive Medicine" three days a week for massage (sport and pain), accupressure, accupuncture, hydrotherapy, etc, etc…I have done everything, and still do everything because I PRAY there is a better life. BUT, sadly, pills are the one thing that helps above all. But, Doctors I have seen are all too scared to write anything (prescription) that offers real relief. They give out just enough to keep me from hiding in a corner in tears all day. I have a Pain Management Doctor who has been raided 4 times by the DEA, so even though he tells me I need "X" medication, he won’t write it because "so many Doctors have gone to prison and lost their license because this administration considers pain meds as serious as heroin

Do you go to pain management for your injuries?

I know someone in chronic pain. They have no trouble getting the medication they need to manage their level of pain. My worries for you is about your self treatment with the oxycontin. It can be so dangerous. I actually had another friend who was hooked on it. Heres an article I wrote about her circumstance. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/241330/oxycontin_more_addictive_than_previously.html?cat=71

If you do not go to pain management services. I urge you to seek them out as you stated you have insurance. Please be careful with the self medicating for your pain, especially with the oxycontin. I dont want to scare you but my friend died from it. The scary thing is she did not acually have as much in her system as she did many other times. If you have time read the article and please seek further medical care.

OH NO you can get them cheaper! And never order from a place outside the country. It will take too long to get IF they are legit. And then you run the risk of customs seizing them. I ordered 100 10 mg hydros for about $115.00 for three months before i had my surgery. Please look around for a cheaper better place.

My doctor prescribed Oxycontin 20mg 60 tabs and Loratab 10mg 60 tabs for about 2 years then it stopped working, now I’m on 30mg Morphine 60 tabs and Loratab 7.5 60 tabs for the last year, my sister has twice my dose from a different doctor, you need to find a doctor that trusts you without doctor shopping, does your parents have a doctor they have seen for years? that’s where I went for my pain control. I wish you the best of luck, I feel your pain, literally.

No, I wasn’t forced to buy pain meds online because I got the surgery I needed for my back injuries, did my physical therapy, and searched for a doctor that understood palliative care for pain. You never mention surgery, physical therapy, or looking around for another doctor. It sounds like you went straight for the pain meds only.

f that is the only way you want to handle your situation, you can still get the pills cheaper. I just wonder if you should settle for that as the only answer. They are not magic and you may reinjure yourself if you insist on continuing to surf and try to act like you did before your injury. As much as you hate it, your life changed forever the day you were injured, just as it does for anyone who’s suffered a serious back injury. No amount of painkillers will change that fundamental reality.

OMG dude, that is just so wrong! you have insurance? would your doctor reffer you to a pain clinic? you need a dr. who is licensed by your state to prescibe narcotics. if your GP will not reffer you than go get a different GP. i found my pain clinic by searching online and they are wonderful, i would Google things like "chronic pain clinics ‘your area’ and "pain friendly clinics" and find a clinic yourself. i would then call them ask if they are taking new patients and ask if you need a refferal. if you do ask your dr. for one and if your dr. refuses call the clinic back and ask if they know of any general practitioners who are taking new patients and who work with their clinic. there should be no reason why you should have to pay out so much money just so that you can have some semblance of a life. i have been playing the pain game for 27 yrs and gosh do i know just how you feel! i feel so frustrated for you. if you do not get anywhere by doing these things let me know. my mom is moving across country and her pain doc said he knows of clinics all over the country and he will reffer her to one. so,i could tell him that i have a friend in "somewhereusa" and does he know the name of a good pain clinic. i hope you are having a good day and i will keep you in my thoughts that you may find someone to take better care of you! would you let me know how things go for you? best wishes! ps, i wanted to add that: if you can think of it i have been through it : physical therapy, accupuncture, bio feedback and so on some things helped a bit but the medication helps the best along with staying as active as possible and eating right and lowering my stress level. thanks to the medication i use i am able to ski again. i cannot do the double diamonds but at least i can get on the slopes. i also enjoy white water rafting again. so, i understand what you mean about wanting your life back. you just need to realize somethings may now be out of your reach but you can make adjustments. i hang on the bunny slopes my friends go to the top but at least i am not on the couch! right?
