Low grade fever since Jan 9th now April 13th.?

I am 29F and had a gall bladder removal on Jan. 9th. After wards the surgeon didn’t come see me and I didn’t get release papers, though I’ve had two surgeries before, so I knew what’s normal and what’s not. They had me spend the night I felt fine and incision sites were fine, and no fever. The next day they sent me home. Still feeling fine until later that night my incisions started to turn red and start to get puss. I had a Dr call in Antibiotics. They didn’t seem to work, so they put me on a different kind and that didn’t work. It is not April 13th and I’m still having fevers. They run from 99.3 when waking and when just walking around or going to the Dr office and back they will get higher usually around 100.5 but they have gone as high as 101.8. I also have stomach pain after eating, my incision sites still hurt, two out of the four still have not heeled properly, I’m exhausted easily, have only been eating about 800 calories but gained 28 lbs in the first 8 wks now I’m stuck at 23 lbs heavier than normal. Lost a few but not much. Also my waist went from 27 inches to at one time 39 inches. I’m a model and actress and they’re is no way of being able to work like this. I also will get dizzy spells from time to time and went through a time where I had a migraine everyday for about two months thank goodness that’s gotten a lot better. My stomach is still very tender and I can’t lift anything without pain and feeling nausous. Have gone to Cedars, UCLA and even went all the way to Mayo in MN and all the Dr’s either tell me I’m crazy eventhough my parents have been there by my side through it all and have seen what I’m going through or they tell me I’m healing fine. Why are they not worried about the fevers? Does anyone else have a story like this or knows what’s going on??? Please please help me!! THank you!!
Also I forgot… this past week I ended up getting golf ball size boils in my inside thigh. I also have now gotten inflamed gums that itch & hurt really bad & my gums seem to be sheding thin layers of skin. Since I’m a model I’m excellent about dental care. I think personally that I have a staph infection. Why don’t the Dr’s seem to care? Also 8 weeks after surgery I still had stitches coming out of the 2 incisions that weren’t heeling well & puss came out at that time as well. My temp. usually runs 96.7 so these 99.3-101.8 are pretty unusal for me. I also didn’t have a fever before surgery. I only had 1 gall bladder attack on Xmas eve other than that I felt fine. I feel worse now than before. They did find a stone blocking the neck. Ultra sounds show fluid around my liver, but the Dr’s don’t seem concerned or the ones that are concerned don’t know what to do with me. This whole thing has been the worst nightmare of my life. I’m really hoping you can help me! Thanks again!
Thanks for your ideas but, I’ve already been to 13 Dr’s about this. I’ve been to UCLA, CEDARS and even flew and have still been going to MAYO in MN. At this point with them telling me that I’m either healing fine or it’s in my head I don’t know where to turn?!? I feel like the Dr’s in Los Angeles were covering for a well known surgeon but now being at Mayo I don’t understand why I’m not getting answers there? I know my body well, and have never felt like this. My weight gain was really strange too. I was gaining around 7 lbs a week and the first 8 wks I was only able to eat crackers, applesauce and water, so how can I gain 26 lbs off eating only that? I’ve spent thousands of $ trying to figure this out and not being able to work it’s been hard. I just want to get better. I don’t want to be like that other model on t.v. that died because Dr’s didn’t get to the bottom of this situation…
Sincerely,
Audra Lynn

I’m sorry I dont know much about this, but you should always listen to your body. Just keep going to different dr’s until you find one who will listen to you.

This must be a real nightmare for you! I am sorry, but all I can offer is sympathy. It sounds like you know that there is a problem but are having a heck of a time convincing the medical community. It reminds me of that TV series called "Mystery Diagnosis". The only advice I can offer is get on the web and keep researching doctor’s/clinics that specialize in "fevers", or "surgical complications", or "sudden weight gain". You get the idea. Good luck!
