Mid-lower back pain problem. Any suggestions?

I have been working out for several years now and about 4 months ago (don’t remember if it was instant or gradual) i started having mid lower back pain. This could have been due to too much stress during an attempt at a heavier dead lift.

The pain starts when I lay down at first and slowly starts to feel better but if I am to do deadlifts of any weight or squats the motion and weight on my back respectively makes me back very sore and painful immediately after I finish the set.

This pain has been going on for several months now and still exists. I have taken days off, haven’t deadlifted or squated in 2 months, and have taken a week and a half off recently but the pain still exists.

I wonder if this could possibly be a disc problem (although I heard that was a burning pain and this is not), a muscle problem, or possibly a kidney issue.

I am a male of 22 years old, 6 foot 2 inches, 190 pounds and the only supplements i have ever taken are pre-workout supplements and only for 2 months a while ago. Would not touch anything that could mess with my liver as a medication i take recommends no alcohol as to increased liver damage.

I am seeing a doctor in several weeks but wanted to get back into squats. Has anybody had similar pain and if so what was the cause and solution? Thanks a lot.

yea I have. I had bk surgery last yr and still have more problems. I had herniated disc and the disc particles had fell apart and were laying on sciatica nerve causing me the pain. Had that fixed and now have 2 bulging disc, DDD, Spurs and need surgery again but I am holding off. Try ice. My nuerologist suggest that instead of heat. You could get a steroid shot. That is a healing drug and I have had several.
